The Skene Dhu name, dates back to the late 1800s
The Cock Tavern on the North End Road in Fulham, London, has a very long and proud history that can be traced to its first license being granted in 1713.
Famous throughout London and beyond as a hostelry of some repute, it ran an 1893 Christmas advertisement in The West London Observer. As well as fine Champagnes, ales and various spirits, the notice featured a case of whisky being offered for 42 shillings (£2.10 in today’s money).
That whisky was none other than Skene Dhu.
